Mutations explained

Mutations are passive abilities that change how your dinosaur survives, fights, or feeds. Every species has a pool of mutations it can roll — the right picks let a smaller animal punch above its weight; a bad roll can leave you with a useless slot. This is the full reference: every mutation in The Isle: Evrima with its value, restrictions, and (where applicable) how to unlock it.

How mutations work

Mutations slot into your dinosaur's active loadout and apply their effects passively for as long as they remain equipped. There are three broad categories:

  • Lifecycle mutations — the default pool available to (most) species.
  • Slot 2 exclusives — only roll on the second mutation slot.
  • Unlockable lifestyle mutations — gated by in-game tasks (e.g. kill 5 players at night, jump 50 times, drink saltwater until dehydrated). Once unlocked, they appear in your pool for the specified slot.

Tags below mark restrictions like Carnivore, Herbivore, Female Only, or Group Leader Only. Values are the listed in-game magnitudes for the effect.
